Education:

  • B.S., 1957, University of Rhode Island

  • M.S., 1959, University of Rhode Island

  • Ph.D., 1964, University of California

Teaching:

  • PLS 150 "Plant Biology for Gardeners" (Summer session I, 2002).

Research:

My research interests include nutrition and energy partitioning in perennial plants with emphasis on turfgrasses and woody ornamentals; physiological basis for nutrient acquisition and use efficiency by turfgrasses; turf management strategies for minimizing nitrate leaching to ground water; and physiological control over photosynthate partitioning between shoots and roots.

Current research includes: Turf Management Variables and Their Impact on Nitrate Leaching to Ground Water; Managing Turf with Minimum Nitrogen; and Plasmodesmatal Control over Photosynthate Partitioning between Shoots and Roots.
