Ecological Statistical Analysis is a hands-on course that addresses the basics of statistical analysis using the statistics program JMP. Although there are many other excellent statistical programs, the choice of JMP reflects the instructors’ familiarity with it as well as their belief that JMP’s graphical user interface makes it easier to learn. Because this class teaches how to conduct statistical analyses rather than addressing the underlying statistical issues, students should have taken at least one or more statistics courses prior to enrollment.
